How to Things to Do When You Are Retired

Retirement isn't necessarily a time to slow down, but it can definitely be a time to enjoy. There are many things you can do to keep busy. Perhaps there is something that you've put off for a while that you've always wanted to do. Or maybe you have a personal passion that you couldn't dedicate yourself to because you were always working. You've worked hard all your adult life. Take this time to enjoy it by doing the things you love or the things you've always wanted to do.

      Take up a new hobby. Whether your interest lies in fishing, knitting, crafts or woodworking, you now have the time to enjoy it.

      See the world or the country. If there are places you always wanted to see or visit, your retirement is the perfect time to do so. You can even buy an RV. If you have a lot of places you want to see, or your passion is traveling, do it full time in the comfort of a recreational vehicle. Some people even sell their house to travel continuously.

      Write a book. You've lived a full life with a lot of experiences. Use your knowledge and share it with the world.

      Take up gardening. Ask any gardener who is serious about their craft and they will tell you it can easily be a full time endeavor. If you live in an area with a winter environment, you can dedicate a room in your house just for gardening.

      Learn something new. If there is something you always wanted to learn but felt that you didn't have the time, now you do. Take a dance class, a pottery class or another class that will teach you what you always wanted to learn.

      Get a part time job. If you just can't seem to find something that will fill your time, consider getting a part time job. The additional income will come in handy and you can choose a job that you'll really enjoy.
