Keep Kids Believing in Santa
Keep Kids Believing in Santa

Even as an adult, I find myself feeling a little giddy when I see a great Santa Claus at the mall. It warms the heart and soul to see a child's eyes sparkle as bright as the Christmas lights when they think about Santa. Unfortunately, as parents, we only get a few precious years to enjoy this. I hope that some of these ideas bring even more joy to your home!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Creativity!
  1. Step 1

Before the days of the internet we used to write letters to keep in touch with relatives, friends, and of course Santa! Now it's even easier to get that Christmas list to the big guy! Santa has his own website where you can play games and even email Santa himself! Get your kid's and visit www.emailsantaclaus.com

  2. Step 2

On the other hand, Santa still loves to see handwritten letters and personally reads each one of them. You can mail a letter to Santa at:

    Santa Claus
    1 Candy Cane Lane
    North Pole

There is no need to leave a return address. Your letter will not get lost. The Postal Service is very familiar with the address of Santa and will make sure that all letters will arrive safely.

  3. Step 3

Imagine the looks on those little faces when they get a return letter from Santa! Parents, write your return letter from Santa. Put it in an envelope addressed to your children with proper postage. Put that letter in a larger envelope and mail to:

    North Pole Christmas Cancellation
    Postmaster 5400
    Mail Trail
    Fairbanks, AK 99709-9999

Please mail by December 15th. Your letter from Santa will come to your children, postmarked North Pole.

  4. Step 4

Did you know that NORAD (the North American Aerospace Defence Command)also tracks Santa's flight pattern each year? It's true! Beginning in December you can visit their website at www.noradsanta.org. Older children love this, and they learn a little geography too!

  5. Step 5

Don't forget to leave milk and cookies for Santa, and carrots for his reindeer! We also like to spread some oats in the yard for the reindeer. It's hard work being Santa, and I hear he gets very hungry!

on 11/4/2008 Great ideas! I love this article. Too many kids don't believe in Santa these days because a lot of them are obsessed with "growing up". It is extremely hard getting kids to find their belief in Santa when other kids are either telling them that he isn't real or calling them babies for believing, etc. when they, themselves, are a merely just a baby as well. Thanks for this article!

on 10/25/2008 Omg we do this! I haven't sent a letter to the North Pole yet but we'll have to try that this year! The NORAD thing...my Father in law laughs at me every year because I have it up on the computer the day before Christmas! Awesome!
