Step 1
Be Prepared: Try to have a few of everything in your tackle box. Sometimes you will find that the fish seem to be attracted to one particular lure or color. You will be upset if you lose that lure and don't have a replacement with you. Make sure you have extra fishing line, needle-nose plyers for removing the hook from the fish and most of all a stringer if you plan on keeping any fish.
-
Step 2
Ask The Locals: When fishing in an unfamiliar area don't be afraid to ask the locals for tips. Any smart fisherman will do this. A good place to start is the local bait & tackle store. More than likely these people have been fishing here their whole lives and may have some good advice for you. Take the advice for what its worth but don't be afraid to try new methods of your own.
-
Step 3
Look Around You: Look at the natural habitat around you. What kind of insects are around? What color are they? More than likely the fish have adapted to feed on the most common insects around them. Use these colors and shapes when choosing your lures. Or use the insects themselves if you can catch them.
-
Step 4
Be Patient: Don't just be on a mission to catch fish. Try to enjoy the whole experience. Slow down and enjoy the peace and nature around you. Relax, it can take time to catch that trophy fish so just try and have fun and you will eventually catch that WHOPPER.
GOD BLESS
