How to get rid of fleas on your pets and in your home

this is super simple way to rid your pets of flea infestation and how to keep them away with very user-friendly products from your kitchen!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • regular DAWN dish soap (blue)
  • bath basin
  • two-three large bath towels
  • olive oil
  • salt
  • vacuum
  • moth balls
  1. Step 1

    take off your pet's collar and run lukewarm bath water in the basin. The bathtub would work well. Place one large bath towel on the bottom so that your pet does not panic for fear of slipping. This will also save the integrity of the basin. gently put you pet in the basin and wet down with water.

  2. Step 2

    when your pet is fully wet, pour the Dawn dish soap into your hands and then gently apply to the whole pet. be mindful of their eyes and noses. this step will cause the fleas to easily come out of the fur and kills them. thoroughly rinse your pet.

  3. Step 3

    depending on the severity of the infestation, step 2 can be repeated till they are noticeably gone from the fur. whenever you are done, help your pet out of the basin and towel off till mostly dry. your drain

  4. Step 4

    soon after the pet is dry completely, you can apply olive oil to their coats to ward off any other insect attacks. rub the olive oil between your hands and work into their skin. only use enough oil to lightly cover the pet. too much oil will act like a magnet for dirt and debris.

  5. Step 5

    For your carpet, sprinkle salt onto the carpet area and leave for 24 hours.

  6. Step 6

    use a new vacuum bag and put a couple of moth balls into the bag before inserting into the vacuum.

  7. Step 7

    vacuum the area thoroughly and dispose of the bag immediately outside. repeat as necessary to a flea free home!

Tips & Warnings
  • a large cup or water pitcher is nice to rinse the animals in a basin.
  • make for sure to use a hair catching drain cover. this keeps you from calling the plumber.
  • make for sure the temperature of the environment is comfortable for you and your pet.
  • after baths are a good time to clip their toenails.
