There's an easy and inexpensive way to get rid of dog urine odor caused by pet accidents that won't leave a chemical residue. This substance also helps in the removal of stains caused by the urine and is a natural and environmentally friendly disinfectant.

Things You'll Need

  • White distilled vinegar
  • Paper towels

Blot the wet stain with paper towels to absorb as much urine as possible.

Pour undiluted vinegar right on the spot, saturating the area.

Take fresh paper towels and continue to blot until most of the moisture is absorbed.

Tips & Warnings

  • If the urine spot has dried, before applying vinegar wet the area with a little cold water and then begin the steps mentioned above.
  • Before applying vinegar to carpet, test a small corner first to make sure the vinegar will not remove the dye in the carpet.
