Seashells are an inexpensive way to decorate clay art projects. Here is a simple seashell craft project for kids and adults.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Scraps or any color of Sculpey clay
  • Clay crafting tools
  • Small seashells
  • Glass dish for baking clay
  • oven and hot pads
  1. Step 1

Using the Sculpey clay, roll or press it into a small bowl shape on a protected surface. You can make your holder in any shape you desire.

  2. Step 2

Press small seashells into the inside and outside of the clay.

  3. Step 3

Have an adult bake the clay in the oven according to product instructions.

  4. Step 4

Let the clay cool to room temperature.

  5. Step 5

To add shine to your project, spray a light coat of clear coat on the finished project (according to directions on the can).

Tips & Warnings
  • Using more than one color of clay can create a more colorful and unique project.
  • Keep the thickness of the clay the same throughout the project to allow the clay to bake evenly.
  • These make great Father's Day, Mothers Day, Birthday, Teacher and other Holiday gifts.
  • Use clean wax cereal bags from empty cereal boxes for a working surface with clay.
  • Use caution when baking the clay in your oven.
  • Use caution and read over your clear coat spray can before using.
