BlackBerry smartphones allow users to assign mobile phone numbers stored in their contact lists to single keys on the BlackBerry keyboard. The BlackBerry speed dialing system utilizes the alphabet keys on the QWERTY keyboard, so users have up to 26 letters available for frequently dialed contacts.

Instructions

  1. Menu Key

    • 1

      Click the trackpad. Click the "Menu" key and from the popup menu, click "View Speed Dial List."

      Scroll down the Speed Dial List and click an unassigned key. Click "New Speed Dial" on the popup menu to launch the contact list.

      Click the contact name and then click the phone number you want to assign to the new speed dial letter.

      Click the "Escape" key to exit.

    Keyboard

    • 5

      Press the key that will be assigned to the contact on the keyboard. Hold the key down until the "Assign a Speed Dial to the _____ key appears."

      Click "Yes" to launch the contact list. Click the contact name to assign it to the key.

    • 7

      Click the "Escape" key to exit.

Tips & Warnings

  • The Menu key is stamped with a white BlackBerry logo.

  • The Escape key is stamped with a curved white arrow.
