Things You'll Need:
- willness to let things go
-
Step 1
The first step is to be honest with yourself and ask yourself what is truly important in your life. These are my realities for myself. I choose to protect these fundamentals every day.
*My sanity
*My physical health
*My efficacy or ability to produce in life
*My ability to love and have great relationships particularly with myself. -
Step 2
Unclutter your life by giving things away, Like your money, your time, your patience. This can be hard because it shows you the reality of how much we cling on to things in life.
Simplicity is about having the ability to attain things but understanding that you never truly own anything and that just because something disappears in your life doesn't mean you wont ever see it again. -
Step 3
Look at what you own both emotionally and physically and know that it was you that created all this in the first place. When your in a situation where you feel stuck, ask yourself what is the most simplest solution with the most value and stick with it.
-
Step 4
Practice having enough. We spend so much time with feeling that we don't have enough of this or that, that we start believing in it and that belief starts manifesting in our lives.
I'm not asking you to settle for monotony but asking you to replace it with mastery over craving for extra things you don't need in life. -
Step 5
Learn that when you have more you need more all the time. A better car needs a better house needs a better job you get the picture.
If you start down sizing and using less you would be surprised how clever and creative you can be.

on 10/23/2008 This is a wonderful article! I need to unclutter, so I will follow these steps. But, I don't think I am as strong as you are -- I must have my coffee (my best friend).
