Things You'll Need:
- computer
- internet
-
Step 1
Find an online driver's education course that will allow you to complete an online course with your child and/or download a workbook to use with your child. I like the course DriverEdToGo(link is at the bottom). It is only about $20.
-
Step 2
Check your state's driver's education laws to see if the online model will work and if they can be taught be a parent. It many states it will work.
-
Step 3
Sign in and complete the course with your child. They could do it on their own but to make sure they learn these important rules and safety tips I would do it with them. You could also download the workbook if you want to teach your teen using that.
-
Step 4
Make sure to order the completion certificate so you can turn it into the DMV and you have know successfully taught your child driver's education.

on 11/6/2008 This is a great way to avoid the ever increasing cost of driver's ed! I did pre Driver's ed, because no one was teachig kids how to drive a standard transmission, which would limit their car buying options. 3 kids and a clutch later, I can laugh@ this adventure. But,there were many anxious moments when I taught my kids to drive. It's not for the feign of heart!
