Things You'll Need:
- paint
- paint stirrer/stick
- paper bags
- paint tray
-
Step 1
You can either start by painting your walls a base color or jump to step 2 if you plan to use the current color on your walls as your base color. Be sure your two colors are complimentary. You can ask your local paint store salesperson for assistance.
-
Step 2
When the base coat on your walls is dry, stir and pour your secondary color into the paint tray.
-
Step 3
Crumple a paper bag into a ball (if you're using a large paper bag, just tear of a section and crumple that).
-
Step 4
Holding on tightly to one half of the ball, dip the other half into the paint and let excess drips run off.
-
Step 5
Using rotating motions (think "twelve o'clock, three o'clock, nine o'clock") dab the paper bag on the wall. The spaces between the spots is entirely up to your personal taste. The key is to be consistent.
-
Step 6
Be sure to dip into the paint again before your spots start to fade and toss the paper and start a new ball as soon we the crumples start to wear down.
-
Step 7
Once that paint is dry, some people like to go over it with a third color. This is purely up to your taste.
