This How-To will explain how you can slice small tomatoes in halves without ever hurting yourself.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • cherry, grape, or other "mini" tomatoes
  • two plastic container lids, (preferably from a sour cream, ricotta cheese, or cottage cheese container)
  • long-bladed, sharp knife
  1. Step 1

Remove green leaves and/or any stems from tomatoes.

  2. Step 2

Wash the tomatoes thoroughly, and then allow them to dry.

  3. Step 3

Place one lid top-side down on a flat surface. Add as many tomatoes as you can to this lid. Note that the lips of the lid will keep the tomatoes from rolling off!

  4. Step 4

Place second lid top-side up, so that the inside of the lid rests upon the tomatoes.

  5. Step 5

At this point you should have several tomatoes secured between two plastic lids. Take a long-bladed knife and begin slicing between the two lids, through the tomatoes.
