How to Destroy Cities in the Civilization Phase of Spore

For all the military societies out there, this is the bread and butter of the Civilization Phase. Bombing another city into submission is the key for military societies to take control of their world.

Instructions

1. Build five to seven Land Vehicles. Make sure they are loaded with at least 50% Military Power. This approach favors a good offense over defense. As an aggressive society, you will want to be on the attack as much as possible. Use these initial Land Vehicles to take all nearby Spice Geysers as quickly as you can.

2. Attack your first neighbors with your Land Vehicles. This is why you want five to seven of them; you will need them for preemptive strikes. Your enemies will undoubtedly have Land Vehicles of their own. Either destroy them first or wait until they are a long way away before you assault a city. To assault a city, select your attacking vehicles, right-click your intended target and select 'attack.'

3. Fortify your cities. Unless you are playing on Easy difficulty or work extremely quickly, you will need to harden your cities against attack. You can do this either by leaving vehicles to guard your cities or building Turrets. Turrets cost more money, but will automatically defend against attack. Vehicles can usually be put to better use attacking someone else.

4. Maximize efficiency. In order to maximize your city's Spice output, you can arrange your buildings so that your people are both happy and productive. Build a Factory in one corner of your city. Build a House next to that, then an Entertainment building next to the House. This will ensure that your citizens have both work and play nearby. They will be happy (which increases productivity periodically) and productive. To continue the chain, build another House on the other side of the Entertainment, then another House and another Factory.

5. Build Air Vehicles as soon as you can. While Sea Vehicles are useful for assaulting coastal cities and taking Spice Derricks, they are limited in their speed and usefulness compared to Air Vehicles. You will need to take four cities before you can build Air Vehicles. Once you can, build as many as you can as quickly as you can. Use your new air force to assault the remaining enemy cities. Attack one city at a time, with your entire air force.
