Throw a Kids Christmas Party
Throw a Kids Christmas Party

It's that festive time of year with the excitement of Christmas. To make it even more special you may want to throw a Kids Christmas Party. Here are step by step directions on how to throw a Kids Christmas Party.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Decorations
  • Food
  • Treats
  1. Step 1
    PaperDirect.com

Cut the front off old Christmas cards. Run off a simple invitation on the computer and paste on to the back of the cards. This a great way to go "green" and a personalized way to invite guests to the Kids Christmas Party.

  2. Step 2

Decorate the house Christmas style with a tree, twinkling lights, and other holiday fare. Hang up Christmas stockings and make sure there is a fire in the fireplace if you have one. Red and green streamers, tinsel and mistletoe add a festive note.

  3. Step 3

Have Christmas music playing in the background to add merriment to the Kids Christmas Party.

  4. Step 4

Ask each guest to bring a wrapped gift in the $5-$10 range that works for a girl or a boy. Put all the gifts in a large Santa sack (decorated pillow case or garbage bag) and let each guest take a turn picking a gift without looking. Cut simple large stars out of paper plates or have the guests trace around cookie cutters on paper plates and cut out. Let the kids decorate them with glitter. Use a hole puncher to punch a hole at the top, and add a ribbon for a cute tree decoration.
Consider decorating sugar cookies. Let the kids decorate premade cookies with icing and decorations.

  5. Step 5

Serve mini meatballs, hot dogs wrapped in crescent rolls, grapes, sugar cookies and other tasty foods. Use partyware with a Christmas theme.

Give each guest a tiny stocking as a party favor with inexpensive Christmas goodies like Christmas themed stickers, erasers etc.(Check out Oriental Trading in Resources or find them at a Dollar Store) Add a candy cane to make the party favor even sweeter :)

on 10/22/2008 These are great ideas! I especially like the recycling of old christmas cards as invitations. The idea of using paper plates for homemade ornaments is a very inexpensive craft idea. Some of these things could also work for a simple playdate during the holidays.
