Things You'll Need:

Step 1
You must, repeat, MUST USE AN IRON SKILLETHeat your skillet on medium heat and add these ingredients: 1-1/2 cup brown sugar. 1/2 cup butter. Use butter, not magerine and you may add a bit more if the texture is too thick. Do not add too much butter or there will be a slightly greasy affect to the topping. Remove from heat and let cool.

Step 2
This is a blue ribbon recipeIn the meantime begin preparing your yellow cake recipe according to directions. In place of using water where called for, use the combined juices from your jar of cherries and your pineapple. This will give your cake a pink color and it makes it taste so good!

A perfect cake for holiday entertainingGoing back to your skillet. Take the pineapple slices and position them on top of the brown sugar topping. You should be able to use the whole can. Place cherries in the middle of each slice and around the edges. Repeat the same pattern with the pecans. Use your imigination; there is no wrong or right way to do it. My motto is the more the better! It allgets baked into a yummy, gooey taste of heaven anyway! Put your skillet into oven and bake acccording to cake mix directions.
