Things You'll Need:
- Boar Bristle Body Brush ($1 at Walmart)
- Favorite body wash or soap
- Moisturizer
-
Step 1
Body Brush I use to exfoliateI recommend using a natural fiber body brush, such as boar bristle, with short bristles. You can use synthetic, but the natural bristles react better with our skin.
There are two ways to exfoliate your skin with a body brush. You can do it with your skin dry or wet. If you have extremely dry skin, I recommend exfoliating your skin while it is wet. -
Step 2
Dry exfoliation with a body brush has great benefits. It stimulates blood and lymph flow which provides more oxygen and nutrients for the skin.
You can start with any part of your body. Using just a little pressure (not so much that it scratches) go over your skin with small circular motions. Focus on areas that tend to be dry such as heels, ankles, knees and elbows. Follow up with a moisturizer. You can do this 2-3 times a week. -
Step 3
Exfoliating your skin with a body brush while it is wet is great for people with sensitive and very dry skin. The best way to do this is while you are in the shower.
You can cleanse your skin with soap or body wash before you exfoliate; I find it more effective to exfoliate your skin with the body brush by applying the cleanser to the brush directly. Your skin should already be wet when you do this.
Repeat the same process as dry skin exfoliation, small circular motions. Rinse with tepid water and moisturize while your skin is still damp, this is very important. You can gently exfoliate your wet skin with a body brush on a daily basis.

on 10/21/2008 I love those rougher brushes... makes my skin feel sooo smooth when I'm done. I'm sure my lady appreciates it as well.
