A puppy who is strictly bottle-fed will need approximately 45 ml of food for every 3 oz. of body weight, spread out over approximately 10 feedings per day. As the puppy gets older, the frequency can be cut back and the amount increased. Throw away formula that is not used. Old milk replacer can make your puppies ill. Angle the bottle at approximately 45 degrees to be sure the puppies are not ingesting air while nursing. Warm the formula to body temperature before feeding. Test it on the inner part of your arm to avoid feeding formula that is too hot or cold. If you have any questions or concerns, check with your vet.
Growing puppies occasionally need to be supplemented to ensure healthy growth and development. Step 1
Combine 1 cup of goat's milk, two raw egg yolks, 2 tbsp. of Karo syrup and one dropper of liquid vitamins. Stir thoroughly. Use the formula immediately or refrigerate it for up to two days.

Combine 1/2 cup of evaporated milk, 1/2 cup of sterilized water, 1 tbsp. of Karo syrup, 2 tbsp. of whole-fat yogurt, one dropper of liquid vitamins and two raw egg yolks in a blender. Blend until the mixture is well combined and smooth. Use immediately or refrigerate until needed. Use this formula for puppies who need long-term bottle feeding.
Step 3
Make sure the hole in the nipple is big enough to allow formula to pass through but small enough that the pup does not aspirate the milk.
Step 4
Stimulate the puppy to ensure she is using the bathroom. Dampen a cotton ball with warm water and gently rub over the abdomen and genital area after every feeding.
