I know that as adults we forget the rules of the road. This is an attempt to reassociate you with driving ethics, rules, and awareness

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A Car
  • A Drivers License
  • A Mind
  • The Will to Remember
  1. Step 1

Let's begin. Start the vehicle. Proceed SLOWLY forward or in reverse. If you are reversing, slowly back up looking both ways to prevent hitting another car or being hit by another car. Are there any children? Are there any animals, garbage cans or people? Proceed.

  2. Step 2

Let's review the speed limit. I'm guessing that its 25 (if you are in a subdivision). Hint, don't go over 25. If the posted speed limit is higher, then by all means proceed with caution. It really irritates people with children when the speed limit is exceeded. Now, let's head to a main road. When proceeding it is important to stay on the right side of the road. This doesn't mean driving down the center, put your cell phone away to prevent swerving - Remember to use your blinker BEFORE you get to the turn lane. Continue to leave the cell phone alone. When turning, remember to stay in the lane closest to the turn lane, don't worry, you can switch lanes in a minute.

  3. Step 3

Once on the main road review the speed limit and proceed accordingly. If you need to change lanes:
    1. Turn on your blinker
    2. Look in the rear view mirror
    3. Look to either side of the vehicle to make sure there is not a car in the lane you are wishing to change to. Slowly switch lanes and proceed.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always remember that you are not the only car on the road
  • remember that not everyone will stop because you want to get into that lane (that is a different article)
  • it is important to let other cars know what your intentions are, use your blinker always
  • Stupidy is inevitable - please read and follow with caution.
