Things You'll Need:
- Vegetables, such as spinach, watercress, bean sprouts, carrots, asparagus, bok choy, etc.
- Olive oil, canola oil or vegetables oil
- Garlic
- Salt, pepper, sugar.
- Onions (optional)
- Soy sauce or fish sauce (optional)
-
Step 1
Rinse your vegetables before you cook them to get rid of dirt and pesticide. Peel and cut them in small pieces if you use carrots, zucchini or squash, cut the bottom stem if you use bok choy, spinach or broccoli for stir fry. If you use asparagus, peel the outer part of the end stem approximately about 2 inches long, they are too hard to eat, the tips and the center should be tender enough to eat after you cook them.
-
Step 2
Heat about 2-3 table spoons of olive oil, canola oil or other vegetables oil on the frying pan and add minced garlic (about 2 or 3 cloves garlic), add minced onions if you use them. Stir fry for a minute or until they change color, wilted and have a nice fragrant.
-
Step 3
Add vegetables, salt, pepper and a little bit sugar. After few minutes, taste it to make sure it has enough spices. Add a little bit of soy sauce or fish sauce if you like.
-
Step 4
Cooking time: vary, depends on what kind of vegetables you cook and how tender do you like your stir fry vegetables. Spinach and bean sprouts cooked very fast, broccoli, carrot and asparagus cooked a little bit longer.
