Things You'll Need:
- If your pet store is 1-2 hours from your home you may need small wooden or plastic bow with air holes
-
Step 1
In the afternoon hamsters are more lively:
If the kind of hamster you choosing come from a desert, you may try to visit your pet store on the afternoon. Hamsters are sleeping during the day and awaking early at night to look for a food. In the morning most of them might be sleepy. -
Step 2
It is good to look at the one you choose outside its cage:
When you look at the hamster its body should be well-rounded with a clean, smooth coat without bare patches.
The best age is between 4-6 weeks. You can look at its ears, which should be not only clean inside, but also covered with hair outside in this age.
There shouldn't be any pimples on its ears, nose, belly or feet.
Its eyes should be clean and bright, no runny. -
Step 3
Ask a questions:
Ask for male or female if its sex matter to you, but they both have the same temper.
As for the recent type of food the hamster was eating, you can change that gradually in one week.

You also don't want more than two because they will start having babies like crazy. And before long you will be over-run with hamsters.
