Having just found out my child's best friend has leukemia I was crying and cruising internet and found some information. I am crying as I write this praying that she will be a miracle.

REVISION: all profits from ad generated revenue will be donated. I am not wanting to profit at all from this. Thanks to the posters that suggested it. Kudos to you! Ehow rocks!

Please see new addition to resource box for Team Jesse.

PLEASE however, Find a means to contribute locally or to contribute to research by playing a game. buy a wristband. say some prayers.

THANKS

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Adults, Teen and Kids can benefit from your brief involvement
  • Participation in online game (small charge)
  • Participation in local events
  • Direct donations to Team Jesse
  • Participation RAFFLE sponsored by Phoenix Children's Hospital
  1. Step 1

Phoenix Children's Hospital Raffle raises money for the Hospital. Proceeds will not go specifically to Leukemia or TeamJesse but they will benefit the hospital which is AWESOME in their service of medical to children with cancer. This will benefit all children at Phoenix Children's Hospital A very worthy way to donate.

  2. Step 2

See introduction: You can help raise money by playing games online
    https://lls.play2cures.org/pledge.aspx?campaign=lls

see resource box below for clickable link

  3. Step 3
    DONATE HAIR for chemo patients
    DONATE HAIR for chemo patients

You can make donations directly, or buy a wristband to show support. You can also donate hair by asking your hairdresser the best way to do so. Recommended length to donate is at least 6 inches.
Donating hair is an excellent way to help contribute to youth undergoing chemotherapy.

  4. Step 4

Participate more actively in fund raising events. Call your local hospital or cancer center to find out what is happening in your area. In Phoenix there is a 5K walk/jog event. I am not in shape, but encourage those that are to participate.

Sponsor a spaghetti dinner or community car wash or yard sale to raise funds for leukemia research or specific leukemia patients.

  5. Step 5

If you want to donate directly to Jesse's fund, there are links in resource box. Jesse is the 16 yr. old girl that inspired this article. Her family blog may change your life. "Hug your child today" is their message. Read the blog following Jesse's discovery and treatment. TEAMJESSE, the link is in resource box below. Please consider a direct donation to help with the family's tremendous medical costs. Over a million after insurance. Link for IPOD raffle to raise money for this patient is in resources box.

There are also links for the national organization. All proceeds from this article raised by adsense links will be going to TeamJesse. http://jessecatron.com.

on 5/7/2009 Jesse is now ready for round 5 of chemo and had to go back to hospital early. She has been in hospital full time (with 3-4 short breaks) since late October. I know that CYN is also raising money for Cancer... take a cruise through the search tool
