Shopping for a new mattress? There are many compelling reasons to buy either a springless Latex or Memory foam mattress. Customer satisfaction is very high! Typically, a good memory foam or latex mattress will last longer, are very supportive and are more comfortable for a longer period of time.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Understand the benefits of Springless Mattress Systems: *Foam Mattresses will conform better to your body for more complete support. You will notice less pressure points especially if you sleep on your side. With less pressure on your shoulders and hips, you toss and turn less and sleep more deeply. Another advantage of a foam mattress is that you will notice much less motion transfer from your sleep partner.
Finally, as you age, your body adjusts more readily to foam. Many people find that after a few years a spring mattress may still be in good condition, but no longer comfortable!

  2. Step 2
    Latex Mattress

Determining between a Latex Mattress and a Memory Foam will require you laying on both types of mattress. A good sleep shop will have 3 to 8 mattress in each category. Pick a mid price mattress in the Talalay Latex line up to test. Latex will have a more traditional feel than a memory foam sleep system. Spend about 10 minutes determining the feel and comfort level.

  3. Step 3
    Memory Foam Configuration

Next, lay on a mid priced Memory Foam mattress. It is very important to spend at least 10 minutes on this system. Don't make your mind up until you spend time on this mattress. I find that if you like the feel of a memory foam mattress, you will really love after sleeping on it for a while. Other people just do not like the feel of the bed.

  4. Step 4

After determining which type of mattress feels better for you, shop within that line up. You would have already tried a mattress in the medium price range. Try another mattress one step up and one step below. The price difference is proportional to the amount of foam in each bed. You are now shopping for comfort level. Remember, these mattresses will usually up to twenty years, so get the most comfortable bed that you can afford!

Tips & Warnings
  • When shopping for foam mattresses, both latex and memory foam have the same benefits. It is not that there is one style better for you than the other. Pick the mattress that feels best.
  • There are mattresses available with a combination of latex and memory foam that very comfortable also.
  • Be sure that you shop at a reputable mattress dealer in your area. Memory foam can come in different density's. An average price for a good queen mattress can be around $1500. If you see one at a $700 price point~ Buyer Beware!
  • Always protect your mattress with a good washable mattress pad. Stains on a mattress will void any mattress warranty.
