tie a clinch fishing knot

This is the best way to tie a super strong fishing knot!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Lure
  • Fishing line
  1. Step 1

First you simply slide your line through the eye of the fishing lure you wish to tie on.

  2. Step 2

Next you spin the fishing lure clock wise 6 times to wrap the line around itself to create the clinch.

  3. Step 3

Now you simply thread the line back through the bottom loop of the line. Wet the whole knot to prevent stretching and breaking and pull tight! You have just tied a great clinch fishing knot!!!!

Tips & Warnings
  • By wetting the knot before you pull it tight you will prevent snapping or stretching the line!
  • Be very careful when handling lures! The hooks are very sharp! Also do not insert your finger into the knot, if you pull on the line when your finger is in the knot, the line will cut your fingers!!

on 10/20/2008 This is excellent information for anyone who wants to tie a really strong lure or hook line. I would also recommend to attache a "quick connect" clip at the top so that in case you need to release the fish, you can do it quickly.
