Step 1
Grocery Discount CardSign up for any and all grocery store discount cards. Almost all of them will give you a card along with some key chain cards. Usually people just put these away or lose the key chain cards. I take one metal key ring and put all of my rebate key chain cards on it. That way I can keep up with all the cards and not have them crowd my wallet any make them difficult to find. Usually I keep it in my glove box so I never forget it.

Step 2
Groceries and CookingActually cook your food. While prepackaged meals make dinner time easy it comes with a price. If your not a gourmet cook (which I am also not) you can easily search for very easy quick recipes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Buy actual foods like beef, onions, oranges, celery, rice, etc. If your not used to cooking your own food ease in to it. Nobody said you have to start doing it everyday. Trying picking one or two days a week to cook to get you started.

Step 3
Store Brand GroceriesBuy grocery store brands and generic brands. They almost always taste the same and come with a discount as high as fifty percent. Just remember not to tell your kids its grocery store brand. What I did once was bought one box of life cereal and a box of store brand cereal that was like life cereal. Once the name brand life cereal was finish I took the store brand bag out of the box and put it in the Life cereal box. Nobody could tell the difference.

Step 4
Grocery CouponsClip as many coupons as you can find. Other than looking in the Sunday paper you should also check online. Think of some of your favorite brands for example and then check there websites. A lot of company will post grocery coupons online on their websites.
