A Chai Tea Latte is a Wonderful Pick Me Up
A Chai Tea Latte is a Wonderful Pick Me Up

I'll admit it, I love chai tea lattés from starbucks, but come on! $3.45 for a drink is steep, so I invented a way to have my chai tea at home for a fraction of the price.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 4 Stash Double spice chai tea bags
  • Honey
  • Sugar
  • Vanilla extract (not imitation!)
  • 8 cups water
  • Milk/Soy Milk
  • Saucepan
  • Steam Wand (Optional)
  1. Step 1

Pour 8 cups water in the sauce pan and place on the stove on high. Drop the 4 tea bags in the water and bring to boiling. Reduce the water to 4 cups. The tea will now be very dark and concentrated.

  2. Step 2

Pull the tea bags out of the water and discard.

  3. Step 3

While still warm, add 4 Tablespoons sugar, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla, and 1/2 teaspoon honey.

  4. Step 4

Cool, and refrigerate up to 10 days.

  5. Step 5

To make a latté, use a 50/50 mixture of chai tea concentrate and milk.

  6. Step 6

Microwave or use the steam wand to heat. Enjoy the wonderful creamy drink!

Tips & Warnings
  • Each cup of chai tea concentrate is 46 calories.
  • If the tea bags burst while boiling, strain out the loose tea with a strainer before mixing with the other ingredients.
  • This can be very addictive!
