Things You'll Need:
- Displaced items throughout the house
- Laundry baskets
-
Step 1
The object is to put everything in the first room back in place and put everything else that does not belong in that room into a laundry basket. Then do the same in the next room if applicable. If you have items from the first room in your basket that belong in the second room, replace them to their correct location as you go.
-
Step 2
When all rooms have been picked-up in this manner, sort the remaining belongings in your basket and make one last trip around to replace the remaining displaced items.
-
Step 3
If working as a family, you can send each family member into a public room of the house with a laundry basket in hand. By public room I mean non-bedroom area. (Bedrooms should be cleaned by the person(s) who sleeps there.)
-
Step 4
Then have them return to a central location to resort the items that they found misplaced in their assigned room.
-
Step 5
Each person should re-load their basket for their assigned room and head back there to replace those remaining items where they belong.
-
Step 6
If additional cleaning is required such as glass/mirror cleaning, dusting of furniture, vacuuming, etc., divide these tasks up by person best suited for the job. Your house will sparkle in no time at all with very little effort from each person.
