If you have a message you want to share, and a car that can be permanently painted, and you want to make things a little more interesting around town, you may want to paint that message on your car. You WILL attract attention.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • acrylic paint in contrasting color from your current car color
  • polyurethane
  • small-tipped paintbrush
  • wide-tipped paintbrush
  1. Step 1

Clean the area of the car you want to paint. Most cars can be divided into separate panels for different messages. Each door can be an area, etc.

  2. Step 2

Choose the length of your message carefully. Short is best- 15-20 words can fit on one panel. Plan the message out in your head so that it's spaced well.

  3. Step 3

With a steady hand carefully paint your message. If you mess up you can catch the mistake quickly by using Windex to clean it off. If you like it, let it dry for at least an hour.

  4. Step 4
Once it is dry, coat the message with polyurethane to prevent chipping.

Once the paint is dry, put a clear coat of polyurethane over it with a wide-tipped brush.

Tips & Warnings
  • Your car will look better if you use the same font and color.
  • This method is PERMANENT. Not to be taken lightly.
