Get Rid of the "Sent from my Blackberry" Tagline When You Send Messages

Get tired of seeing "Sent from my blackberry" on the bottom of all your sent messages? Maybe you don't want them to know you sent it from your blackberry while sitting at the game in the middle of the day...or maybe you just don't like it (I don't!). Let's change it!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • BlackBerry
  1. Step 1

Open your messages application. Click your pearl mouse (or press the track wheel on the side of your blackberry if you don't have a pearl) and choose 'Options'.

  2. Step 2

From the messages options menu, scroll down to 'Email Settings' and click to continue.

  3. Step 3

From Email Settings, scroll down to 'Use Auto Signature' and click to view choices. Scroll to 'yes' and click to set.

A text box will appear. Erase the standard text if it shows up here (i.e. 'sent from my wireless handheld'), and enter any text you would like to have appended to the end of each of your messages. Good examples would be your signature and/or contact information (text only).

Click again to bring up options, click on "Save"

You have now personalized your signature!

Tips & Warnings
  • Auto signatures are a great way to ensure you have a consistent closing to your email.
  • Placing support center information below your signature ensures your customers always know where they can easily find support phone numbers, etc.
