how to deal with a hangover
how to deal with a hangover

Drinking moderately and partying is lots of fun. Waking up the next day with a hangover isn't. Here are some tips to avoid and deal with that occasional hangover.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Fresh air
  • frozen peas
  • water
  • fruits
  1. Step 1

    Drink Lots of Water.

Dehydration is one of the most common symptoms of hangovers (especially if you've been planting your face on the toilet the night before). Replenish your body with the fluids you lost.
You can also try adding 1 teaspoon of salt per liter of water, as well as 4 teaspoons of sugar. Sip this mixture slowly.
You can also substitute with sports drinks (non-caffeinated) if water isn't readily available.

  2. Step 2
    eat a banana

    Eat a banana.

Eating anything to decrease alcohol concentration in your blood is a plus. Bananas are recommended especially because it not only replenishes electrolytes, but provides potassium that you may have lost the previous night (down the toilet or sink).

  3. Step 3

    Something cold will do.

Creating a makeshift cold compress out of frozen peas is a good idea. Place directly on forehead and stay in the same position for a while. After 10 minutes, remove the pack.
If you don't have peas, you can alternative make a compress with a cloth dipped in frigid water. Wrung out the water and fold into a pad to place on forehead. This must be repeated every 10 minutes to keep the pad extra cold

  4. Step 4
    a good jog might help

    Get some fresh air.

Speeding up your metabolism may allow the alcohol to pass through your system faster. Get in some exercise, even though you're going to feel completely out of tune. It only matters that you sweat.

  5. Step 5

Finish up with a nice glass of fruit juice.

Fruit juice is high in vitamins and nutrients. These are a few of the components that must be returned. Drink cold juice. Drink lots of it, and overall take it easy this day. You're going to need it.

Tips & Warnings
  • Drink less
  • Sweat more = better
  • Fill your body with nutrients and anything you feel like you lost overnight.
  • If you've had a particularly bad night, eat an extra meal to replace the ones you lost.
  • Constant hangovers is a sign that you have a drinking problem. If this is the case, seek professional help if you can't stop.
  • Too much OVERdrinking can lead to multiple diseases in the long run. Drink responsibly.
