Concealer is a great base for coverage, before applying foundation. It conceals or hides dark spots under your eyes, and on your skin. It can camouflage blemishes and pimples to make them less red. Concealers come in many different applications. There are concealer sticks, pencils, pots, creams, mattes and liquids. With so many to choose from many people are confused as to how to use them.

Things You'll Need:

  • Concealer
  • Concealer brush
  • Wand
  • Sponges
  1. Step 1

Wash your face and apply toner and a moisturizer. Allow it to be absorbed into the skin, so that when you apply the concealer it won't slick off. This is especially important for combination and oily skin types.

  2. Step 2
    Pencil

Pick your application tool. If you want to go for accuracy and want to focus on small pimples you should use a concealer pencil.

  3. Step 3
    Liquid

Liquid concealer can be brushed on or swiped with a wand. They work best for dry skin types, and applying to dark spots.

  4. Step 4

A concealer stick, also known as a coverstick is convenient, and gives you a less messy way to apply. In this creamy, matte version you can apply without the use of a brush, and blend it in with your fingers.

  5. Step 5
    Cream
    Cream

The concealer cream typically comes in a palette, or a compact. It can be applied by using a brush or a sponge. Its perfect for under eye circles and blemishes.

  6. Step 6

No matter what version of concealer you buy, the most important thing is that it works for your skin type. It should provide coverage and still disappear underneath your foundation.
