1
Send out invitations. Invitations should be sent out at least 3 weeks in advance to give everyone enough time to accept. Besides, if they aren't sent out early enough, your guest-to-be might accept another invitation. Write on the invitations if there will be gifts exchanged and if they need to dress causal or a little more fancy.
-
2
Set a budget. Figure out how much you want to spend on your Christmas party and then stick to it. Buy everything you need to cook or decorate out of the budget.
-
-
3
Assign jobs. Give each member of the family a job to help get things done faster. Cleaning the rooms can go much faster if divided between people.
-
4
Decorate with Christmas decorations. Decorate the rooms that will be used during the party. You can decorate mirrors and doorways with ribbon and garlands. Do not forget to put up the mistletoe (see Resources below).
-
5
Decide on the menu. You can either cook all the food for your Christmas party or get a caterer to do it for you. Place all of your snacks and drinks in convenient and easy-to-reach places for your guests to enjoy (see Resources below).

Tips & Warnings
Play Christmas music to help create a festive atmosphere for your Christmas party.
Use plastic ware for eating so that all you have to do is throw them in the trash can. This will help to cut down on clean up after the party.
If there will be gift exchanging then buy a couple of extra gifts for those who forget to bring one.
Make sure that all candles and Christmas lights are well away from anything flammable.
If there is any alcohol involved, make sure there is a designated driver to take the drinking folks home.
