How to Schedule Deposits and Bills in Quicken Home & Business 2008
Quicken Home & Business 2008 has an option that permits you to schedule deposits and bills. You can use it for any transactions that repeat. This could be weekly, monthly, annually or other reoccurring bills and credits. This way you will not have to worry about missing any debit or credits critical to your finances. You can schedule all of your bills, paycheck deposits, transfers to specific accounts and more. You are required to have the names, dates, amounts and other details about each deposit or bill. You can schedule them in under ten minutes each.

Gather all of your mandatory information. You will need to know details about each debit or credit you want to schedule. This will include: amount of times to schedule, sum needed, account used for payment or deposit (or both), how often scheduled and other details. Get all of the information you will need for each bill or deposit.

Access scheduled bills and deposits. Go to the account needed (for debit or credit) and click on the “Scheduled Bills & Deposits” tab on the bottom of the page.

Click on the “Add Bill or Deposit” button. This opens the Schedule Bill or Deposit dialog box.

Fill in the required “Payee” details for the transaction. This includes the name, category, tag (if used) and any notes in the memo section. You will be able to select your responses from the drop down list or type them.

Supply the payment (deposit) information. Choose the account you want to use, the method (payment, deposit, transfer and so on), website address (if used) and the sum. You can also estimate the payment if needed.

Schedule the deposit or bill. Select the date you want to start and when you want to be reminded about it or if you want it automatically entered. Choose how often you want to schedule it and other options given. You can also select a specific end date for the transaction. Click on “OK" to complete the set up.

Tips & Warnings
You can also begin setting up scheduled transactions by: clicking on “Scheduled Bills & Deposits” under the “Tools” menu; opening the Financial Calendar under “Calendar” in the “Tools” menu and then “Add Bill or Deposit;” going to your Home page under “Go to Quicken Home” in the “Tools” menu and then “Add Bill or Deposit.”
You can schedule dividends and investments as deposits. You should not use this method for investment transactions like DRIPs, dollar cost averaging or alike. Use the Memorized Investment Transaction List Quicken has for them.
