How to Add Animation Effects to Text in Microsoft Word 2003

Today's word processors come with features that allow you to create nearly any type of a document imaginable. Features like text animation even allow users to select specific portions of text and put them in motion. This can be useful when you're trying to draw the eye to the titles of documents or other relevant information.

  • Open a document and create the text you want to animate.

  • Click and hold the mouse button as you drag the cursor over the text to highlight it. Release the mouse button; the text will stay highlighted.

  • Open the Animations menu. Click on “Format,” then select “Font.” Click on the “Text Effects” tab to access the text-animation options.

  • Under the “Animations” field, select from a variety of text animations, which will be displayed under the “Preview” field at the bottom of the Text Animation Properties box.

  • Once you have chosen the desired animation effect, click “OK” to implement.
