Click on the thumbnail and print out the template included with this step. Cut out the cowboy Santa Claus base portion of the template. Place the segment over a red piece of construction paper and trace around it in graphite pencil. Cut out the Santa base from the red construction paper.

  2. Step 2

Cut out the remaining pieces from the template. Organize them so that you can find the right pieces when you need them. Fold a piece of 9 by 12 inch construction paper in half. Choose any color paper other than red.

  3. Step 3

Place the bandana template piece over yellow construction paper, and the bandana trim piece over green paper. Trace around the edges in pencil. Cut out the bandana pieces. Use a glue stick to adhere the green bandana trim to the yellow construction paper bandana piece. Glue the bandana to the red cowboy Santa base.

  4. Step 4

Trace around the face and the suit trim templates over white construction paper. Draw the edge of the beard and the mustache in black pencil. Fill in the cheeks with flesh colored pencil. Cut out the white pieces. Paste the face over the bandana on the base figure. Adhere the suit trim to the bottom of the cowboy Santa's red coat.

  5. Step 5

Place the hat, lasso, belt and boot templates over brown construction paper. Trace around them, then cut out all pieces except the lasso. Glue the hat over the cowboy Santa's head. Then glue on the gloves, boots and belt.

  6. Step 6

Place the brown construction paper lasso piece over cardboard. Use a craft blade to cut out the inner loop. Cut the outside of the lasso with scissors.

  7. Step 7

Trace around the belt buckle template piece over yellow construction paper. Cut out a tiny Christmas tree from green paper, making sure that it's small enough to fit on the belt buckle. Cut out a slender strip of brown construction paper to serve as a trunk for the tree. Paste the trunk on the buckle first, then paste the Christmas tree over it. Glue the belt buckle assembly over the belt.

  8. Step 8

Put the boot trim templates over green paper. Place the boot trim strips and the Santa Claus nose over red paper. Trace these pieces and cut them out. Paste the red strips over the green boot trim, then adhere these pieces to the top of the brown boots. Paste the red Santa nose on the head so that it overlaps the hat and face.

  9. Step 9

Center the cowboy Santa figure on the front of the card. Very lightly mark the edges of the gloves, hat and boots in pencil. Apply glue to the reverse of the Santa figure. Place it down on the card, using the pencil marks as a guide. Paste the lasso directly above the cowboy Santa's raised hand.
