How to Decorate My MySpace
Decorating a space usually means moving around furniture, spending a lot of money, and getting paint everywhere. But decorating a place in cyberspace is relatively easy. Not to mention-- a whole lot less messy. By decorating your MySpace page, you can give people a taste of your style. Many people want to share their favorite movies, seasons, and even their views on politics. There are several areas of the MySpace page you can decorate. Luckily, you don't need to be well-versed in code. There are plenty of websites with pre-made layouts and pictures. All you have to do is know where to cut and paste the code.

MySpace Decorating Basics
-
1
Decide what you want to include in your design. Are you looking for simple colors, or do you want to deck out your page with scenes from your favorite movie? Its best to know what you are looking for before you begin your search.
-
2
Use a search engine to locate pre-made layouts and graphics. You can try phrases such as "MySpace layouts," or make it more specific. If you want a Terminator movie themed layout, try searching for "MySpace Terminator layout." Remember: there are possibly hundreds of sites that provide free layouts. If you get to a site and don't find what you want, keep searching.

3
Choose a layout. This will change the overall theme of your page. Most websites will let you preview the layout. Look for a link or a box that includes the HTML code. It will look like gibberish-- but its really a language for computers.
-
4
Copy the code. You can do this by highlighting the entire code and pressing "ctrl C."
-
5
Log into your MySpace account. You need to be logged in to change your layout.
-
6
Click "Edit Profile." In the "About Me" section, paste the code. You can paste by pressing "ctrl V." In addition to the code, you can fill out information about yourself. Just make sure to do this before or after the entire code sequence. Remember to press "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page.
-
7
Choose a Contact Table. The contact table is the part of the page that includes "Send Message," "Add to Friends," and "Favorites." You may have to do an additional search to find the theme you are looking for. Once you choose, copy the code.
-
8
Paste the code in the "I'd Like to Meet" section. This will change the contact box, but leave your overall layout. Remember to save your changes.
-
9
Choose an "Extended Network" theme. Again, not every MySpace layout site will include pre-made themes for this particular part of the page, so you may have to do another search. Once you make your choice, copy the code and paste it into the "I'd Like to Meet" section. Make sure it is either above or below your other code.
