Tips for Plucking Eyelashes
Your eyelashes are the eyes' protection against dust and debris. Eyelashes are usually helpful in doing their job to prevent infections, but sometimes an eyelash or two can grow towards your eye instead of away from it. If you have an eyelash that grows the wrong direction, you may find it helpful to pluck it before it reaches your eye. Follow the steps below to pluck your eyelash safely and without pain. 1
Wash your eyelid carefully with tear-free baby shampoo and water.

2
Blink until your eyelashes air-dry. You do not want to use a cloth or paper towel on your face, because debris from the towel could get caught in your eyelashes and wind up in your eye.

Hold the magnifying mirror up to your eye. Carefully examine the lash you are going to pluck.

4
Very carefully place your tweezers near the end of your eyelash. Do not pull from the base of your eyelid, but from the very end of the eyelash, to keep the tweezers as far away from your eye as possible. Hold your eyelid taut with your other hand.

Hold a cold compress over your eye if you experience pain or swelling after plucking. To minimize pain, do not pluck more than one eyelash at a time.
