How to Beat "Star Wars: Force Unleashed" on PS3
"Star Wars: The Force Unleashed" is a game that creates a new story in the mythos of George Lucas's films set a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. The game's story fills in an important part of the gap between Star Wars episodes III and IV. You will need to learn how to use both your lethal lightsaber and a multitude of Force Powers to beat the game.

1
Upgrade your abilities with the lightsaber first as you progress through the game. This will allow you to pull off more impressive attack combos and do more damage to your opponents. As you defeat opponents and successfully pull off combos, you will earn points. These points will then get you Force Spheres, which you use to purchase upgrades. The first force talent that you want to use your upgrades to master is Saber Mastery.
-
2
Use the upgrades you earn early on in the game to master Force Focus and Force Affinity after you get the Saber Mastery. Focus increases the maximum force energy that you can have. Affinity reduces the time it takes to regain your force energy after using it.

3
Focus your attention on three specific Force Powers when upgrading this category: Force Push, Force Lightning and Force Repulse. Fully upgrade these powers and you can attack several enemies at once from a safe distance, or you can save yourself by repelling multiple enemies that are dangerously close.
-
4
Use combination attacks instead of repeating the same singular attack over and over. The more you use combination attacks, the more points you will earn. Be creative. This could be the difference between beating the game or ending up at the end without the powers you need to win.
-
5
Press and hold the triangle button for Force Lightning attacks when fighting larger enemies like the Rancor, AT-KT, AT-ST or AT-CT. Hold the button until your force meter drains completely and then evade and use melee attacks until it fills back up. Force Lightning will do more damage than lightsaber attacks here and leaves you less vulnerable. Two to three attacks, depending on the strength of the opponent, will do the trick.
-
6
Press the L2 and circle buttons to trigger the Force Repulse power to get easier victories against bosses Shaak Ti on the Felucia level and Emperor Palpatine on the Death Star level. Both of them use other weaker enemies to attack you while you fight them. Force Repulse allows you to dispatch multiple smaller enemies at once and regenerate your health. They may sound annoying, but they come in handy when your health meter is low. If the Force Repulse knocks the boss over as well as his cronies, it provides you with a few seconds to sneak in some easy and damaging attacks.
-
7
Defeat Maris Brood on the Imperial Felucia level by attacking the rear of her Rancor with lightsaber attacks. Force powers will not get the job done. Once the Rancor is defeated, you are one-on-one with Maris Brood. Knock her down with a lightsaber attack or Force Push and then hit her with Force Lightning until she gets back to her feet. When she goes invisible, you will still be able to see a trail where she moves, so hit her with your lightsaber to make her appear again and then attack before her defenses are up.
-
8
Defeat Darth Vader the first time by using the block button and timing counterattacks with the lightsaber. You then move into a new room, where you'll use Force Grip to throw pieces of the wall at Vader. Go back to using the block-and-counter strategy in the third part of the battle. If you choose the dark side ending, you will face Vader one more time. Here you can use Force Grip to pick Vader up and throw him. While he is down, use lightsaber attacks to weaken him. You may need to distract him with some basic attacks to make him vulnerable to the Force Grip.

Tips & Warnings
Force Grip is one of the abilities you have from the beginning of the game. Try different button combinations to use it with other powers like Force Lightning and Push to gain bigger point rewards. This will help you to unlock and upgrade more abilities throughout the game.
Do not rush during parts of the game where you have to make big jumps. Timing these incorrectly or positioning yourself centimeters from where you need to be could cause you to miss and get sent all the way back to your last checkpoint.
