How to Set up a Campus Connect Account for Ivy Tech Community College

If you are a student of Ivy Tech Community College, you have probably heard of Campus Connect. Campus Connect is the Ivy Tech Student, Staff and Faculty Internet portal. If gives you access to your Ivy Tech e-mail account, Blackboard for you classes, the library databases, register for classes, check on your financial aid and more. Most instructors will contact you via your Ivy Tech e-mail account. Even if you have face to face classes, more and more departments are requiring all of their instructors to use Blackboard in the classroom. You can use it to avoid waiting in line at the Registrar’s Office during peak registration. Plus you have to have it to accept your Financial Aid package. Set up your account before classes begin.

      Go the Campus Connect homepage (see Resources below). Look just below the login box; there is a list of links. Click on the first time use link. This lets you set up your own user name and password. A User Agreement will pop up; read that through completely. Once you have, click on the "I Agree" button at the bottom of the box.

      Complete your first time user set up. This will give you your username. Enter your legal first name in the first box. Even if you go by a nickname, you need to input your name just like it was on your application (hopefully you used your legal name). Enter your last name. Enter EITHER the last four digits of your social security number or your whole student identification number (C number). If you do not know your C number, use your social security number. If you did not use your social security number on your application, the system will have nothing to compare the last 4 digits to. In that case, go to the Admissions desk to get your C number. Because of FERPAS, this information cannot be give out over the phone or via e-mail. You must come in and do this in person. Key in your date of birth and zip code. If you have moved since you applied, but you have not completed the paperwork to have it changed by the Registrar’s Office, use the zip code for the address on file. Click the "Next" button.

      Reset you password. This is where you get to make up your own Campus Connect Password. Make it something that won’t be easy to guess. Click "Next."

      Answer the security questions. The next screen will ask you to pick a number of questions and to type in your answers. Remember these answers. If you ever forget your password these are the questions you will be asked to let you back onto your account. Click "Next" and you will be asked to log on to your account.
