Beaming information via infrared technology is a quick and efficient way to send a file from your PDA to your PC, or to a friend's PDA. Instead of jotting down a bunch of contact information, you can receive it all in one file--or just send a pal a funny ringtone. If you follow these simple steps, you'll be swapping files in no time.

From Quick Guide: Using PDAs
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Use the file explorer to locate on the sending PDA the file you would like to transfer.

  2. Step 2

Align the sending infrared port with receiving port. Place the two devices on a table for the easiest alignment. (Holding them side-by-side works just fine, however.)

  3. Step 3

Use your stylus to click and hold on the file you want to transfer. When the menu box appears, click the option labeled "Beam File."

  4. Step 4

Accept the file on the receiving device.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep the ports steady and even as the data is being sent to avoid a failed attempt.
