Everybody with a cat knows that litter boxes generally are difficult to maintain and require a lot of cleaning. Plus, cat litter can cost a lot and much of it simply goes in the trash. Fortunately, sifting cat litter box liners could help the changing process and possibly save you a little money in the process.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Litter box
  • Several large plastic sheets or litter box liners
  • Scissors
  • Cat litter (not newspaper or large pebbles)
  • Large rubber band or clips (if liners are not elastic)
  1. Step 1

Buy a box of cat litter box liners or get several sheets of plastic that is larger than your cat litter box.

  2. Step 2

Cut several (a few dozen, depending on the size) pea-size holes in the center of each sheet, except the one on the very bottom.

  3. Step 3

Place the group of plastic sheets in the bottom of a clean litter box. If your sheets do not have elastic edges, hold the sheets in place with a large rubber band around the edge of the litter box or several clips on the edges.

  4. Step 4

Fill the litter box, with the sheets inside, with a normal amount of litter.

  5. Step 5

Scoop the dirty litter when necessary, but whenever the waste gets built up in the litter, take off the top plastic sheet--the clean litter will drain through the holes, and you can dump the waste in the trash can.
