A light bulb cub scout ornament is a thoughtful gift for a scout leader to give to each member of his scout group. Recycling a light bulb and using other minimal supplies makes this one economical project. The ornament can be used as a Christmas gift or as a favor for a scout ceremony. This light bulb cub scout ornament craft is also easy enough to use as a scout project. Follow these steps to show your young scouts how to complete this great afternoon activity.

Sponge paint the bottom half of the light bulb using the navy blue acrylic enamel paint and sea sponge. Set the light bulb top in the baby food jar to dry.
Paint a 1-inch wide strip of yellow acrylic paint on the screw end of the light bulb. Taper the paint to the top of the bulb. Allow the paint to dry.
Paint a face using the peach acrylic paint. Paint below the yellow paint, 1-inch wide and 1 1/2 inches long. Round the cheek corners. Allow the paint to dry.
Dip the pointed end of the wood skewer into the black acrylic paint and dot a nose in the center of the face. Dip the blunt end of the skewer into the black acrylic paint and dot two eyes above the nose. Allow the paint to dry. Draw a mouth and eyebrows on the light bulb cub scout ornament, using the black permanent marker.
Draw a 9-inch line on the lightweight cardboard. Find the center of the line at 4 1/2 inches. Draw a line from the center point, 3 inches tall. Connect the ends of the 9-inch line, to the tip of the 3-inch line, creating a triangle. Cut out the triangle pattern. Trace the pattern onto the yellow felt and cut it out.
Wrap the yellow felt triangle around the neck of the light bulb cub scout ornament like a shawl, with the 3-inch tip pointing down in the center of the back. Cross the tips of the triangle on the front and glue. Fold the back of the neckline over a 1/4 inch and glue.
Draw a 1 1/2-inch wide by 1-inch deep rectangle. Round the corners to create an oval and cut-out. Overlap half of the quarter, centered on one long side of the oval and trace around. Cut out the quarter's shape. Trace the pattern onto navy blue felt and cut it out for the hat brim. Apply craft glue to the arch edge created by the quarter. Attach it to the screw top of the light bulb between the yellow paint and the peach face. Allow the glue to dry.
Cut a 12-inch length of floral wire for the light bulb cub scout ornament hanger. Wrap the middle of the wire around the screw end. Twist to secure. Bring the ends of the wire together and twist a 1/2 inch from the end. Wrap this 1/2-inch twist around the paint brush handle to curl.
