Identify the Ada Perry Spuria Iris by the medium green leaves and long lasting flowers. The flowers can be purple or yellow and are complex and flashy. It can grow up to 4 feet in height and blooms from late spring to mid summer.

Plant the Ada Perry Spuria Iris in partial to full sun depending on which zone you are in. For longer, hotter summers, plant in partial sun. For shorter, cooler summers, plant in full sun. Plant the bulb narrow end up. If you cannot tell which end is narrower, plant the bulb on its side.

Water the Ada Perry Spuria Iris enough to keep the soil moist – about an inch per week. Watering deeply affords the deeper roots access to water and encourages a stronger plant. Shallow watering means the deeper roots must move up to get nourishment.

Fertilize the Ada Perry Spuria Iris with a water-soluble, quick release fertilizer or an organic fertilizer such as fish emulsion. If you use a water-soluble fertilizer, fertilize every two weeks or as instructed by the package. If using an organic fertilizer, always read the instructions as different brands may have different ingredients or strengths.

Do a soil test once per year to be sure the soil is not missing any nutrients. If the soil is okay, then use an all around fertilizer. If the soil shows missing nutrients, fertilize with a fertilizer rich in that particular nutrient until the soil test shows a balanced soil for the Ada Perry Spuria Iris.
