Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cinnamon sticks
  • Miniature pinecones
  • Hot glue gun
  • Red velvet ribbon (1/2-inch wide)
  • Artificial evergreen branches
  • Scissors
  • Ornament hangers
  1. Step 1

Glue 5 cinnamon sticks together in a pyramid. Place 3 on the bottom, 2 in the middle and 1 on the top. Use a thin line of glue that runs lengthwise along each stick to hold them together so that the glue is not visible from the outside of the bundle.

  2. Step 2

Tie the velvet ribbon in a bow around the bundle. If it will not knot tightly enough, then secure it with a drop of glue. Leave long enough tails on the bow so that they hang down over the cinnamon sticks.

  3. Step 3

Trim the bow with 1 or 2 mini pinecones and a small piece of evergreen. Use as many accents as you like, but make sure that you do not obscure your cinnamon sticks completely.

  4. Step 4

Thread the ornament hanger through the knot at the base of the bow. Make sure that once it is all the way through that you bend it so that it cannot fall out. Now you are ready to hang your sweet-smelling ornament on the tree or to adorn a special package with your homemade touch.

Tips & Warnings
  • Jingle bells also make a nice addition to this little bundle. If you use cinnamon sticks more than about 5 inches in length, consider tying them longways and hanging them so that they look like a miniature swag rather than a small bundle of firewood.
