How to Visit Talon Falls Haunted Theme Park
Kentucky's Talon Falls Haunted Theme Park disguises itself as Todd Ferren Photography Studios most of the year, but in October, Ferren and his staff, a ton of volunteers, the Paducah Technical College, the McCracken County Sheriff's Department and the local mass-transportation company all come together to create the best haunted house in the region and to raise money for community policing efforts. Take Interstate 24 to Paducah, Kentucky, then find the exit for Paducah Technical College. In the parking lot, buy a ticket and get in line for the bus ride to Talon Falls. The theme park is only open until midnight Fridays and Saturdays and until 9 p.m. on Sundays. The first tour starts at dusk. The lines are usually longest on the weekends closest to Halloween.

Ride the bus. A city bus will pick you up at the college and drive you through the country roads of Paducah to Todd Ferren's studio. Hold on while you are on the bus; the road is narrow and curvy and the bus drivers know it well, so they aren't slow. The bus will be packed, so watch out for people falling in your lap if you manage to get a seat.

Bring a jacket and plan for the tour to take most of the evening. Generally, the haunted house itself takes about 45 minutes to explore, but you will spend extra time waiting in line when you get to the studio, and you might have to wait a few minutes for the next bus to take you back to town.

Watch out for the clown bus. Killer clowns invade the haunted house each year, as well as a bevy of vampire seductresses and various psycho killers. It might be something in the water that turned this little town just a bit nuts, but the folks certainly are crazy.

Wear good walking shoes with non-slip soles. Due to the use of fog machines and the steam coming off the pool, some areas of the haunted house can be quite slippery. Expect to duck-walk and slide as part of the tour.

Tips & Warnings
Discounts for admissions are usually available at the Todd Ferren website in the weeks before the park opens. The discount is $2 off an adult admission.
