1
Tie a long piece of red ribbon to the center of the evergreen garland. The ribbon should be long enough that you can tie it around your mailbox. Once you have tied on the ribbon, you can lay the garland flat on a table for easy access while you add accents.

2
Glue the pinecones to the center of the swag. The tops of the pinecones should be pointed toward the center where the ribbon is tied and the petals should point out and away from the center. Use a fair amount of glue to make sure that they are securely fixed. Leave about 5 inches in between the two pinecones so that you have room for a big, red bow.

3
Tie a large red bow around the middle of the swag. Place it between the two pinecones. Use enough ribbon that you can let tails hang down the sides of your mailbox. You can tie a traditional bow or make a large, fluffy one with lots of loops.
-
4
Tie the swag onto your mailbox. Tie it tightly around the box. Position the swag so that it does not obscure the flag or the numbers on the box. Then arrange the evergreen garland so that it covers the ribbon and set the bow and tails so that they look pretty and symmetrical. Now you are ready for your first seasons greetings to arrive.
