Choose a company online to order your personal checks from. Checks Unlimited is a reputable company that has been around since 1986. See the resources box for the link to Checks Unlimited. Read and print out the company's privacy policy and terms of use. Make sure that the order will be secure and that the delivery will be secure. The website should be secure and you should see that they use an SLL, which would be mentioned in the privacy policy. Do not order your personal checks online unless they have a server authentication and use encryption. It should be really easy to contact the company to ask questions, should you have any. You should also have the option to print out your order form and mail it in if you want to.

Choose the type of personal checks you want. You can have a side tear or top tear for your checks. You can order personal checks with duplicates so you have an instant copy. You can choose a color, design or licensed image such as Disney characters. There are many designs to choose from, but you can also go with a blank design for the simplest and least expensive one.

Choose how many boxes of checks you want to order. If this is your first time ordering and you are a little nervous, go ahead and order one or two boxes if you want. If you can get a good deal on more than two boxes and you are comfortable with it, order as many as you would like. Most places you will order your personal checks online from will offer two or more boxes for your order.

Place your order. When you check out, you will need to give the company your personal checking account information. They need this in order to print it on your checks. They will ask for your bank's routing number, your checking account number, and the check start number. Just look at your last check to get the check start number. If your last check number (in the right upper hand corner) is 750, the new check start number should be 751. You will then need to give your payment information: your credit or debit card. If you are ordering through the mail, you will need to print out your order and mail it in with your payment of a check or money order.
