1
Cleanse your skin. Your skin is dirtiest at night, so apply a quarter-size amount of cleanser onto your skin in the evening. Rinse your skin with cool water in the morning in order to help maintain your natural oils. Look for a creaming cleansing oil with ingredients to moisturize, such as glycerin.
-
2
Exfoliate your skin. The best exfoliant for your skin is actually a simple wet washcloth. If you have flaky skin, you may have to exfoliate once a week with a dime-size amount of extra gentle scrub.

3
Moisturize your skin. Apply a nickel to quarter-size amount of moisturizer with SPF after cleansing while your skin is still damp once a day. Reapply whenever your skin feels tight. Look for a cream with antioxidants, and ingredients to bind moisture, like hyaluronic acid, glycerin, or ceramides.

4
Apply retinol cream overnight. Use a pea-size amount every other night along with a moisturizer.

5
Moisturize overnight. Use a dime-size amount of moisturizer every night, even when you are not using retinol. You may want to look for a skin-brightening cream.
-
6
Dab on acne salve. Heal your acne with a dot of acne salve once or twice a week. Look for 2 percent salicylic acid or sulfur-based treatment.
