How to Level Mining From 5 to 175 for the Horde in "World of Warcraft"

When a World of Warcraft toon hits level 5, you can learn mining, which goes great with blacksmithing, engineering or jewel crafting to supply materials for plans. Mining can also bring lots of gold from auctioning ore and bars. Level your mining from 5 to 175 with these steps, for Horde faction players only.

Instructions

1. Head to Durotar after you have leveled your character to level 5. Most starting areas have a decent amount of copper, but Durotar has the most. The best way to do this is to go to the zeppelin tower and make wide oval circuits in front of Orgrimmar (the horde capital city). By doing this, you can collect a lot of ore while being able to kill mobs on the way.

2. Head to the barrens to level your character from 10 to 20. The fastest way is to make a wide circle of the whole zone, sticking to the edge of the area where the mountains are. As a lower-level toon, you will want to make smaller circuits starting at the top and then work your way to the Crossroads and beyond as you level. Once you have fair amount of tin ore and copper, smelt them and make bronze bars to get extra points form what you have already mined.

3. Head to Thousand Needles when you reach level 20 by walking to the end of the Barrens and getting on the elevator. Here you will be able to mine silver, tin, copper, gold and iron. The easiest and fastest way to mine this area is to just follow the zone edge all the way around till you come to the Shimmering Flats and then work your way back up the other side.

4. Move to the Shimmering Flats when your toon gets to level 30 and is approaching level 100 in mining. Run around the edge of the mountains to find the mines.

5. Go to Tanaris once your toon has reached level 40 and around level 100 in mining. Here, make a wide circuit around the map hitting the small, isolated mountains along the way. Pay close attention to the cliff that drops off into Ungro Crater, because there will be many mithril mines. This should get you to level 175 in mining.

6. Move to the Hinterlands once you have reached mining 230. This area will have truesilver along with mithril.
