How to Change Tanning Bed Lamps

If you own a tanning salon, changing the tanning bed lamps is critical as it will maintain good conditions for your patrons.

Instructions

1. Read the tanning bed manual or other information. Find out how to tell when your lamps must be changed, and what type of bulbs to use.

2. Order new bulbs from the company, or pick them up at a tanning-bed supply store. Get the exact type of bulbs mentioned on the tanning bed.

3. Unplug the tanning bed and move it into a position where you can easily get at the lamps.

4. Unscrew the protective covering over the lamps, and place it aside.

5. Firmly grasp one lamp, and screw it out of the socket gently. Set it aside.

6. Unwrap a new bulb and screw it into the open socket.

7. Repeat steps five and six until you have replaced all of the tanning bed lamps.

8. When all lamps have been replaced, refit the protective cover onto the tanning bed, and screw it into place.

9. Plug the tanning bed back in and turn it on to check that all of your bulbs have been replaced correctly.

Tips & Warnings

• Starting at one end and working your way to the other is the easiest way to do it.
• Don't allow patrons to tan in your salon with new bulbs unless you have warned them that you have changed the bulbs. They will probably want to adjust their tanning time.
