Things You'll Need:
- Waxing kit
- Microwave or crock pot
- Olive oil
- Old towels
- Loose clothing
- Talcum powder
- Standing magnification mirror

Step 1
Start with a clean body, especially the area to be waxed. Make sure the skin is free of rashes, irritation, nicks or cuts. Wait at least an hour after showering, as this will help the skin not stick to the wax. The hair in question should be approximately 1/8 inch long. Any shorter and it may not adhere to the wax. Any longer and you'll dial 911 for the excruciating pain of tangled, long, stuck-together pubic hair--so don't forget to trim. You may also want to talc your waxing area, as this helps the wax stick to the hair and not the skin.

Step 2
Follow the directions carefully on the insert when heating the wax. Wax that is too hot can severely burn your skin. Wax that is too hot will be too runny and not stick to the hair. It is also very messy and will be difficult to clean up. Wax that is too cold will not spread well and will have the same effect in the removal process. Wax should have the consistency of pure, thick honey and not hurt the skin when applied.

Step 3
Have room to maneuver your body into the many positions you will need to remove all hair, and have plenty of towels that you can throw away after the process. Keep your mirror close by to use when waxing the genital and anal area. Start by applying the wax on the thigh area of the bikini line and work your way in towards the pubic area. All kits come with a wooden spatula that spreads the wax evenly. Alternate sides after each application to keep things even--this will make more sense if you just can't stand the pain anymore and quit halfway through. Some wax kits use muslin cloth strips to put over the warm wax, and some just use wax. Either way, it's the same process. Apply the wax in the same direction as your hair growth. Let the wax cool a bit, pull up the edge of the wax or the muslin strip with one hand. With the other hand, pull the skin taught. Pull the wax strip or muslin strip in the opposite direction quickly and as close to the skin as possible. This will help keep the sting at bay. At some point, in some positions, you may have to lay on your back and spread your legs very wide to get into the cracks and crevices. Keep that mirror handy.

Step 4
Rub olive oil all over your freshly waxed skin. This will soothe the skin and keep it supple, and remove any little wax remnants left over.
