Looking for a Job at Home
Whether you want to spend more time with family, have a more flexible schedule or save on commuting costs and work attire, finding a job at home may be just the right thing. Work-at-home, or telecommute, jobs are plentiful. Knowing how to present yourself and what to look for will have you on your way to working at home.

1
Bring your resume up to date. Applying for an at-home job is a lot different than seeking a traditional job. Because you will have little to no interaction with your prospective employer, go over your resume to make sure that it presents your work experience and job history in the best light possible.

2
Set up your home office. Many employers require their telecommute employees to keep a home office that is both functional and away from distractions. Commonly required equipment includes computer, printer, traditional phone line and fax machine. You also may need a scanner/copier, good lighting and a comfortable desk chair.

Have a good, motivating reason for looking for a work-at-home job. Prospective employers want to make sure you're just as serious about a work-at-home job as you would be about a traditional day job.
-
4
Traditional job search resources like Career Builder and Monster can help find work-at-home jobs by using the keyword "telecommute." But mixed in with the real opportunities are a lot of scams and "business opportunities."

Tips & Warnings
Be persistent. Keep checking back with different job search websites to view their updated listings. Persistence and a handful of quality sites will help you find the perfect work-at-home job.
Don't pay for a work-at-home job. While it's acceptable to pay sites small fees for access to their job listings, you never want to pay someone that's offering you a job.
